What vinyl is best for me?

What vinyl is best for me?

Vinyl is a tricky topic- so many different types and brands to choose from! Many people think that Cricut brand vinyl is best, but that isn't always the case! Which is best for my type of craft? I'm here to tell you what my personal favorite brands for vinyl are!

HTV (or heat transfer vinyl) can be used on shirts, cup covers, sweatshirts, and really any other fabric material (plus a couple other things). Personally, I don't use this type of vinyl very often, but when I do, I like to use Siser Easy Weed HTV. It cuts perfectly every time and irons on great! After washing the material it stays on well, too. Price wise, it isn't the cheapest but also not extremely expensive - the couple extra bucks on this one is worth it! I use this vinyl for my shirts and a couple of other minor crafts that I don't sell on my website.

Permanent or Removable Vinyl is used on glass cups, bookmarks, keychains, signs, mirrors, and so much more. This is the vinyl that you typically see being used. For this type of vinyl, I use a variety of brands. Teckwrap vinyl is great for a wide selection of colors and it cuts fairly easily, too. Oracel is another one I use that has lots of colors, but isn't always the easiest to work with. Sometimes it cuts weird and is hard to weed. Hobby Lobby has a great selection, too at a great price. One brand that I don't usually recommend to crafters is Cricut brand- it never fails that I have problems with it! Colors are limited, it doesn't always cut through, and I find that the grip on your material isn't great compared to other brands. These brands of vinyl are perfect for my acrylic bookmarks and keychains! They also work great on my glass cups, but even permanent vinyl should be handwashed- not put in the dishwasher.

Well, I hope this helped! These are just a few of my favorites that I tend to use, but let me know of any others that you find useful! The links to the vinyls can be found below:
